The organization is currently in the planning stages of a campaign to decrease the number of people being added to the wait list in Michigan for preventable methods. The percentage of African Americans registering to donate is proportional to the population but the percentage of African Americans on the wait list is more than 3 times the number registering. To tackle this problem the IAOD is working with the City of Detroit Health Department and Harper Hospital to develop a program that includes preventative screenings, increasing donor registration and educating on living and posthumous donation.

Funding: The organization is looking at funders such as Kellogg and Metro Health to determine best fits for the program. Application date unknown at this time.
