National Donor Day – February
14, 2005
Due to the critical shortage of organ, tissue and bone marrow
donation, the IAOD is proud to be partnering with Saturn
Corporation and the UAW on a continuing project to increase the
number of registered organ donors. Through these efforts there
has been a 10 % increase in the number of registered donors from
January through October, 2004. Saturn’s National Donor Day is
America’s largest annual one-day life-saving donation drive.
About 30,000 Americans diagnosed each year with life threatening
diseases potentially treatable by marrow stem cell transplants,
two-thirds will not find a donor match in their family.
Commit to life-saving donation and talk to your family about
your commitment.
